Accent Reduction is a step-by-step system that helps Russian speakers eliminate their accent and start speaking so they're understood the first time. Your accent will stop holding you back — it'll become your advantage.
If you're just starting out (A1–A2)
If you're already advanced (B1–C2)
A program that helps you eliminate your accent in 4 months and sound like you're understood the first time.
Registration →We work on your accent through a conscious understanding of the sounds, intonation, and rhythm of American English. You'll master a step-by-step system built specifically for Russian speakers — every sound and intonation pattern will become simple and natural.
A complete breakdown of the sounds, intonation, and rhythm of American English. Plus a 66-page workbook.
155 shadowing videos with a native speaker (also available as audio), 18 voiceovers for Study Group texts, and 20 diphthong audio tracks — repeat after the native speaker and build natural pronunciation automatically. Plus a video walkthrough from Julia on how to do Shadowing, and extra drills — tongue twisters and mini-monologues for every sound.
20 recorded workshops, one for every module, 4 video masterclasses, plus live workshop calls with Julia for practice and feedback (Private Classes plan).
Personal sessions for the Private Classes plan — homework review and personalized recommendations. Plus Q&A calls with Julia (In The Classroom plan).
Calls with a curator after every module — error review and practice in small groups (In The Classroom plan). Plus 18 guides for self-run Study Group calls.
A private chat and access to Study Group practice sessions — speaking practice together with other students. A kickoff call at the start and a graduation call at the end, plus an optional Role Model challenge.
The program is built so you work on your accent step by step, getting feedback and results at every stage.
That's why we approach your accent the same way: six modules take you from the basics of sound to rhythm and intonation, each one building on the last — January 11, 2027 → May 3, 2027.
Sounds: [i] [ɪ] [ɛ] [æ] [ɝ] [ɚ]
Three weeks on the first group of vowels — the most common and the biggest giveaways of a Russian accent. Lectures plus workshops for every sound pair, Shadowing practice, Study Group work, homework, and a module quiz. Wraps up with a curator call (Classroom) and a workshop/Q&A with Julia (Private).
Result: you'll learn to tell "bed" apart from "bad", and stop accidentally saying a rude word instead of "beach".
Sounds: [ə] [ʌ] [u] [ʊ] [ɑ] [ɔ]
The second group of vowels — three weeks at the same pace: lectures, workshops, Shadowing, Study Group, a quiz, a curator call, and a workshop/Q&A with Julia.
Result: you'll build a foundation in English's most nuanced sounds and learn to tell them apart in your own speech.
Sounds: [eɪ] [aɪ] [ɔɪ] [oʊ] [aʊ] and R-controlled
The "gliding" sounds that don't exist in Russian, plus r-colored diphthongs. Two weeks, the same cycle: lecture → workshop → Shadowing → Study Group → quiz → curator call → workshop/Q&A with Julia.
Result: you'll gain confidence in your speech, learn to tell "coke" apart from an unfortunate-sounding lookalike, and pronounce the most common words with more confidence.
Sounds: [v] [w] [f], [p] [b] [k] [g] [h], [t] [d] flap t
Three weeks: where final-consonant devoicing comes from and why it's the first thing that gives away an accent. We break down sounds that don't exist in Russian (w, flap t) and learn not to mix up pairs that sound different in Russian.
Result: you'll learn why Russian consonants make your speech sound harsh to Americans, and how to soften them.
Sounds: [θ] [ð] [s] [z] [n] [l] [m] [ŋ] [ʔ] [ʃ] [ʒ] [tʃ] [dʒ] [r] [j]
Three weeks on the remaining consonants, including the interdental [θ][ð] — the classic marker of "Russian English."
Result: you'll lay the foundation for every consonant sound and learn to say even the trickiest words, like "birthday" and "party", with ease.
The final two weeks: how to place pauses and stress so your speech sounds confident, not like you're reading off a script. The module wraps up with a final quiz, a curator call, a workshop/Q&A with Julia, and graduation on May 3, 2027.
Result: you'll connect all the sounds and retune your instrument to a different "melody" — mastering intonation swings and broken rhythm so you don't sound flat or monotone to native speakers.

"I realized that in Russia, schools and universities never actually taught pronunciation — nobody worked on it at all. I'm leaving with a real foundation in pronunciation, and the changes are 100% there. I loved that as a Russian-speaking native, you could explain every comparison in a way that actually makes sense for our language — a non-Russian native speaker just can't get that across the way you did. I loved it so much, thank you, I'm so grateful."

"I had exactly enough on my card to cover the course — I spent my last money on it and never regretted it once. That added motivation: if I'd already paid, I was doing every homework at 100%. I'm still in shock at how much my sound has changed — my foreign friends say they can barely recognize me now."

"At the very least, I'm leaving the course with a solid grasp of the theory. I'm glad I now hear words differently, understand how they're pronounced, and sometimes, just by looking at a word, I can guess how it should sound. I still need to keep working and practicing — I loved the exercises where you imitate other speech, so I'm planning to keep doing more of that."

"We all come in with the same request — fix my pronunciation. I've spoken English for a long time, and I've worked in it for the past few years. But when you actually speak, you notice certain sounds get stuck, and I wanted to sound more natural. I'm leaving with an understanding of what sounds even exist and where they're formed in the mouth. After the course, it became clear where my weak spots are — the sounds w, v, f, and th — but at least now I know where to grow. Thank you so much for the course and for the foundation."

"What I loved most is how you translated our Russian language and the way our speech apparatus works — how we need to use our muscles and everything we have to sound American. If an American or a British native had explained this material, there wouldn't have been this kind of progress — but you're a Russian speaker who understands how it all works, and that helped enormously."
real stories — from every corner of the world
Julia knows how people from every corner of the US sound, and what makes an American accent so recognizable. After graduating from AMDA College of the Performing Arts and earning certification from the International Phonetics and Phonology Academy, she's helped more than 450 students eliminate their accent and start speaking with confidence.
Julia went through the journey herself — from mistakes to a professional sound — and knows exactly what challenges Russian speakers run into. She explains complex things in simple language, helping every student feel free in their own speech.
«It is my considered judgment that Yulia Gladchenko's expertise in accent reduction methodology is extraordinary by the standard of our field.»
«Everything seems to meet or surpass currently supported pedagogical methods and standards within the Voice and Speech Trainers Association guidelines.»
A separate program for those who've already completed Accent Reduction: 5 months, a curator, and a group of 5 — so the skill sticks and kicks in on its own, without having to think about it.
